Taking a recent case as an example

The Indian Influencer Governing Council (IIGC) successfully flagged a defamatory reel created by a lifestyle influencer and also a registered nutritionist. The creator violated Section 6.2 of Defluence and wrongly targeted and defamed several reputed brands like Burger King, McDonalds and Dominos.

Action Taken by IIGC:
An immediate official message was sent to the creator highlighting the breach of the Code of Standards. The creator responded promptly and voluntarily removed the content from their profile. Potential damage to brand reputation was successfully averted. The incident served as a reminder to the community about the importance of ethical and mindful influence.

For hundreds of such reels in past 6 days, IIGC ensured prompt action and adherence to the Code of Standards for Influencers.
